Next Lightshow|International Education Project 2022 – Theatre and Event Technology

Feb 7, 2022

The associations of the DACH region initiate a transnational competition of all trainees in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to strengthen the know-how as well as to raise awareness of the profession of theatre and event technology. With the „Next Lightshow“-project, trainees of theatre and event technology from the three countries can upload a 90-second video-clip to the web platform www.event-campus.org by March 10, 2022. The video should contain a filmed or animated light show of their choice in one of the following categories:

Between 15. and the 28. of March all videos can be reviewed online and public online voting will start. At the same time a professional jury will evaluate the video projects. Then by combining the two results, one winner per category will be selected. The winners of each category will be awarded with a golden mirror ball and a prize money of 500 euro each. The award ceremony will take place during the Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt.

The project will be communicated through national associations and available to teaching institutes. More than 5'000 trainees from theatre and event technology industry in the DACH region will be invited by the associations.

This project is supported by the industry. In return there will be branding packages for logo- and product-placements on the EventCampus web platform as well as opportunities to offer demos, training or licence releases for the individual projects and invitations to the award ceremony.
